Discover The Uses Of Synthetic Compressor Oil In Marine Equipment

By Eugenia Dickerson

Every engine and machine uses one or more types of synthetic compressor oil for its maintenance and smooth functioning. Marine machines like motor boats, ships, submarines etc. Need to be taken care of a lot more carefully as they need to function in water. Many lives can be at risk if the lubricant is not up to the mark, making it necessary to ensure better protection and lubrication.

The primary functions of these oils is to promote system efficiency by supressing foaming, rapidly separating out condensed water and releasing trapped air. These oils are meant to protect the machines and engines from hot and cold temperatures. Also, to make sure that the machine is working according to the design that it is intended to follow.

There are different types of compressor oils that go into the different parts of the machine. There are high speed oils that help in the extension of engine life and to protect its components at high temperature situations. There are many brands that have now come up with such oils that suit the modern engines and their requirements.

There is a different type of lubricant that goes into the stern tube of the marine structure. The oils needs to emulsify with sea waters and protect them from rust and corrosion. This lubricating film keeps the stern tube protected and increases its life in severe operating hours.

The energy giver of a machine which is known as the turbo chargers need to be lubricated with an oil that can increase the performance of the engine. The choice of a good quality lubricant for the turbo chargers does not just guarantee better and smooth working of the machine, but also a safe environment for the people on board. The lubricant that is used for the turbo chargers is also instrumental in the cleaning of the compressors.

There are many refrigeration compressors that are used in the making of a marine structure. The oils that are used in such chambers are meant to protect the components from extreme temperatures. The oils that are meant for the refrigeration compressors are rich in HFC, CFC and ozone friendly refrigerants.

One of the most important parts of any big marine structure is the hydraulic chamber. There are a number of systems and processes that go on in this section. The lubricants that are used to protect the hydraulic are also meant to prevent deposit formation and corrosion. They also protect the machine from the harsh working conditions that may take place in the waters and ensure long oil and filter life and causes lesser environmental damage.

There are other parts of the marine machines like the gear applications, grease applications, air compressors etc. That need lubrication. Most engine parts are intricately designed, and made of metal. Since they are very close to the coming in contact with water, they have to be taken special care of. With the advancement and progress in technology, it is not difficult to find a synthetic compressor oil that is eco-friendly and does not even compromise on its actual purpose. When a simple machine like a lock and key can require lubrication from time to time, then it is rather obvious that a huge marine structure would also require it.
